Equipass was pleased to take part in the FEI Sports Forum 2026, held at the International Institute for Management Development (IMD) Lausanne. Over two engaging days, our team participated in discussions shaping the future of equestrian sport.
One of the highlights of the forum was the final session led by FEI Director of Veterinary & Equine Welfare Göran Åkerström, alongside alongside Tim Parkin, Head of School and Professor of Veterinary Epidemiology, and researcher Harry Stone from Bristol University Veterinary School. The session focused on how data-based research can strengthen horse welfare, improve safety, and support policy decisions across the sport

Several examples demonstrated how data-driven approaches are already delivering results, from injury reduction in endurance to research on surfaces, racehorse safety, and career longevity in jumping horses. The work presented, particularly ongoing PhD research, offers valuable insights that we will continue to follow and may build on in future Equipass content.
Importantly, the discussion also highlighted the need for better traceability and data quality across the industry. In that context, Equipass was referenced as part of the FEI’s Equine Digital Passport initiative, contributing to the collection, storage, and sharing of data across the global horse population. This strong alignment reinforces our role in supporting a more informed and welfare-driven ecosystem.

Two days of exchange with the industry
The FEI Sports Forum 2026 provided a valuable opportunity to connect with a wide range of organisations, including national federations and key industry stakeholders. These exchanges allowed us to better understand current challenges and opportunities while presenting how Equipass contributes to a more connected and efficient network.
The Equipass booth set in the IMD lobby quickly became a space for open dialogue, idea sharing, and new connections. We were delighted to engage with so many professionals who share our ambition to modernise and simplify processes across the industry.

Live demos of the Equipass app
Throughout the event, we hosted live demo sessions of the Equipass mobile application. Visitors were able to discover its features in real time and see how it supports identification, documentation, and traceability.
The app is available on both the Google Play Store and the Apple App Store, making it easily accessible to users around the world.
Looking ahead
Our presence at the FEI Sports Forum 2026 reinforced the importance of collaboration and innovation in driving the sport forward. The discussions and connections forged in Lausanne will continue to shape our work as we further develop Equipass.
We thank everyone who visited the Equipass booth and shared their perspective. We look forward to continuing these conversations and contributing to the future of equestrian sport.
