Launch of Equipass: Advancing the equine digital passport
Equipass is pleased to announce the official launch of its mobile application, representing a significant step forward in the development of the Equine Digital Passport. The application provides a secure, unified platform for accessing all FEI-registered horses, enabling efficient management of horse information in a digital format.
Using an existing FEI ID, data from the FEI HorseApp and FEI Database is fully integrated and accessible within the app. Equipass offers streamlined access to identification details, digital documentation, vaccination records, and other essential features, supporting the daily management and traceability of horses.
The Equipass mobile application is not available as a replacement for the paper Horse Passport until officially announced by the FEI. Until then, the paper version remains fully valid and should be used for all official purposes.
Additional languages will be introduced soon, and new features will be rolled out progressively throughout 2026, ensuring a smooth transition and expanding the app’s capabilities for the equestrian community.
Equipass 2026 Roadmap
The 2026 initial phase focuses on familiarisation with the app’s functionality and capabilities. Feedback will be collected through an upcoming user survey to guide future updates and ensure the continued development of the platform.
Beyond its immediate functionality, Equipass represents a step toward the next generation of equestrian technology. By securely linking and managing data, the application illustrates the potential for digital transformation in equine identification, traceability, and welfare.
